Professional Experience
Mr. Yan has years of experience in patent arbitration, prosecution, enforcement, licensing and counseling of patents. He previously worked as a Chinese Patent Examiner for ten years, having focused mainly on patent applications related to electronics and electrical sciences. Mr. Yan has also worked as an arbitrator at the Beijing Arbitration Commission. Prior to joining AFD, Mr. Yan was a patent attorney with Beijing Shen Xiang Patent Agent Ltd.
Mr. Yan obtained his engineering degree from the Physics Department, Fudan University (Shanghai, China) in 1958. He has over twenty-five years of industry experience, consisting chiefly of research for both the Computing Technology Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the 771 Institute of China National Space Administration. Mr. Yan has studied at the Austria Patent Office and is also fluent in Japanese.
Mr. Yan's practice includes electronics and electrical technology, telecommunications, semiconductor fabrications, computer technology, electro-mechanical control systems, digital and analog circuits, wireless technologies, optical and fiberoptic systems, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and materials sciences.
